Yugi Moto Favorite Card: Dark Magician. Yugi is a young kid who lived with his Grandpa, who owned a duel monster's shop. He possesses the Millennium Puzzle, an item which has created an alternate ego of himself, Yami Yugi. They were happy until Pegasus took Yugi's grandpa's soul. Yugi, to save his grandfather had to go to the duelist kingdom and gain 10 starchips to have a chance to fight Pegasus and have a wish granted, so he can save his grandpa, Seto and Mokuba.

Bakura Favourite Card: Change of Heart Bakura doesn't duel, he also possesses a millennium item, the millennium ring. Unlike Yugi, the ring takes complete control of Bakura and he can't stop it.

Joey Wheeler Favourite Card: Flaming Swordsman Joey entered the duelist kingdom to win the prize money to save his sister, Serenity. He only got into the duelist kingdom as Yugi sacrificed one of his starchips. He started off as a terrible duelist but made it into the finals, his skills improving each duel, having Yugi as a friend helped too. He is very load and always speaks his mind, which isn't always a good thing, like being totally embarrassed by Seto Kaiba.

Seto Kaiba Favourite Card: Blue Eyes White Dragon Seto Kaiba is the CEO of the Kaiba Corparation and the world champion of duel monsters. He really came a long way from being an orphan. Pegasus stole his brothers soul. He was the first person to beat Yugi but he CHEATED!!!!! His soul was trapped aswell as he lost against Pegasus as Pegasus CHEATED!!!!! with his millennium eye.

Maximillion Pegasus Maximillion Pegasus is the creator of Duel Monsters which started of as a very serious shadow game in Egyptian times. He possesses the Millennium eye, and traps people souls in the shadow realm to further enhance his power. He isn't really a great Duel Monsters player apart from that he has access to every card and his MILLENNIUM EYE! He uses it to see other players cards and read their minds. He want to trap more people so he will have more powers and ultimately, ETERNAL LIFE!

Mai Valentine Favourite Card: Harpy Lady Mai is a very strange woman who was so worked up with winning that nothing else mattered. But once she met Yugi, Joey and crew she realised that friendship counted more than anything, and from then on was a much better dueler. At one point she lost all her starchips and Yugi won them back for her, (this was how Yugi still got 10 starchips again). She made it to the finals and was up against Yugi, but he was still wrapped up about Yami Yugi. She helped him realise that he had to get over his fears to win and play his best but in the end, because of it she lost. Her entire deck is based around Harpy Lady but because of it her cards can be very strong.

Bandit Keith Humiliated by Pegasus in the intercontinental championship, by being beaten by a child, he will do anything to get another chance to duel Pegasus and win the prize money. He stole Joey's card to enter the finals, yet another CHEAT!!!

Téa Gardner Téa has been Yugi's friend for ages. She doesn't duel, but did once, for Yugi against Mai (who let her win:). She is a friend of everyone and is always there, helping out and being there. She and Tristan snuck onto the ship to the duelist kingdom to be there for Yugi and Joey. She was the first to suspect the Yugi was different when he dueled.

Serenity Joey's sister, she is very sick and needs an operation. Joey has entered the competition to get the money to pay for it.

Grandpa Yugi's grandfather, only known as Grandpa, he is the one that gave Yugi the millennium puzzle and told him to trust in it. He did own the 4th Blue Eyes White Dragon, but Seto Kaiba came to buy it, but when Grandpa didn't sell it to him, he ripped it up, leaving only 3 which he owned. Grandpa's soul was taken by Pegasus, which is why Yugi entered the competition, to save him.

Mokuba Kaiba Seto Kaiba's little brother, his soul was taken by Pegasus aswell, to further power his Millennium Eye. Seto came to the duelist kingdom to rescue his brother, but failed and has his soul taken aswell.

Tristan Taylor A friend of Yugi, Joey and Téa, he argues a lot with Joey, but you couldn't get closer friends. He suppports everyone but in a different way from Téa. Apart from that he doesn't do much else.

Yami Yugi Yugi's alternate ego, that came from the Millennium Puzzle. He is a lot more confident, but that might have something to do with the fact that he can access his shadow powers and knows a lot more about Duel Monsters. His eyes change amongst other things, but that's just so you can tell the difference. Him and Yugi work together to win duels after Yugi shut him away because he was willing to seriously injure Seto Kaiba. Malik Malik is cold hearted for the most part. He owns the god card of Ra and uses its mighty powers. With the powers of the Millennium Rod, he takes control of other people's minds and bodies. He has very little caring for the people around him and will even sacrifice his henchmen if it helps him for his cause. But besides all this darkness, in comparison, Malik's Yami form is much much much worse. Rishid Rishid is Malik's most trusted henchman and is also Malik's best friend. Before Malik was born, the Ishtar family did not have a heir and were going to have young Rishid serve this problem. However, Malik was born and Rishid's purpose was lost.
